Program Goals for Extra Curricular Activities.
Connections to Community
During the year, groups or students will volunteer to visit a nursing home, collect food for needy families, and/or work as volunteers in the community. Students participate in events like the Crop Walk and Bowl-A-Thon. Community service projects will be offered through concentrations, Student Council and the National Honor Society.
Stay After School!
Students are invited to participate in club activities offered after school. Clubs can be formed at SASA based on interest.
The Real Social Studies
SASA recognizes that social activities are an important part of
the high school experience. The Student/Parent Advisory Council
assists in these activities.
A high school Student Council and National Honor Society are in place. The model United Nations club, Jet-teams, and ICONs publication prepare for annual competition and adjudication at local, state, and national levels. Annual trips to Detroit, Toronto, Chicago, and Florida as well as occasional European tours are provided to view exhibits and performances, to audition, perform and/or compete.
