SASA has developed a diverse approach to offering our 9-12 grade students the opportunity to participate in a variety of high school sports activities. Three primary avenues are available for participation.
The SASA high school athletics program participates in the Inner State Athletic Conference (ISAC), which is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). There are eight schools in the ISAC league. The ISAC league schools are: Burton Faith High, Saginaw Grace Baptist, Flint Michigan School For The Deaf, Kimball New Life Academy, Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy, Burton St. Thomas More Academy, Burton Valley Christian Academy, and The Valley School of Flint. See the link for 'Extracurriculars' for further information on available sports and seasons.
Students at SASA play football though a unique cooperative agreement with Valley Lutheran High School. Our team members have provided leadership and comraderie to the team and are valued members of the Valley Lutheran Football program.
Half-time students can join local area high schools as members of their home teams for any available sports their home schools offer without restriction from SASA. If half-day athletic students need to arrange for early release schedules for home teams contests on game days. Arrangements can be made with the SASA office for early release and assignment make-up.
